If you’ve ever been 8 months pregnant, you know that you are most likely spending most of your time in pajamas, caught between who you used to be and the mother you are becoming. It certainly is no easy feat to make a heavily pregnant woman feel like she actually is glowing. This is just what Anastasia does, though! When I decided I wanted to do a maternity shoot, I knew I wanted something that struck a balance between making me feel like a beautiful mom-to-be and feeling like a beautiful woman who still had her own identity. Anastasia was so attentive to my hopes for the shoot, and she took my ideas beyond what I could have imagined. The shoot itself was incredibly organized and efficient. I arrived to my outfits and accessories pre-selected and laid out according to a carefully planned series of ‘photography flows,’ complete with posing guides conveniently displayed for me on an iPad during the shoot. This allowed Anastasia to capture the perfect photos while also making the most efficient use of our time together and maximizing my comfort. She had even taken the time to plan ‘breaks’ for my swollen feet by carefully timing out the standing shots versus the sitting shots. It’s hard to feel graceful while pregnant, but Anastasia was the perfect cheerleader, providing specific and helpful tips (lower your chin, point your toes, face this light) to help me rediscover my inner supermodel. She also had a great rapport with my husband, keeping the mood light and fun while maintaining professionalism, which helped us capture the most perfect, relaxed shots. I was stunned by the finished products, as was my husband. My husband has some noticeable scars under his eye, on his cheek, along his nose, and along his upper lip due to facial reconstruction surgery. Anastasia did a masterful job handling my husband’s scars with respect and sensitivity. Her photoshop skills are unreal, and she touched them up just enough that they weren’t a central focus but not so much that he lost the character he has learned to embrace. Not only were the photographs beautiful, but the quality and variety of the printed products ensured we had the perfect option for us to commemorate and display this special time in our lives. I am already looking forward to booking a newborn shoot with her! If you’re on the fence this is your sign– gift yourself an experience you won’t forget!

Her photography studio is well stocked with different backgrounds, furniture, and staging options to capture that perfect moment. She even has a stack of posing guides at the ready, so if you feel a bit camera shy like me, this really takes the pressure off! I just copied the poses I liked best from her helpful stack of pre-selections that fit the aesthetic of the shoot. Even with so much to praise, the best part of the shoot by far was Anastasia’s demeanor: she strikes the perfect balance between hype-woman and professional. I have never felt more beautiful in my life than with Anastasia behind the lens. We listened to music, we laughed, and I felt truly transformed into the goddess I always suspected lurked deep within me. Seeing the finished products was also a transformative experience for my self-esteem. Looking at myself through the eyes of Anastasia’s remarkable creativity and vision, I truly felt like a piece of art come to life. Regardless of the occasion, if you want to have fun, feel like the best version of yourself, and have a beautiful set of high-art photographs to commemorate the experience, let me be the first to tell you: book her!
